<span style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif;">Intel XDK gets new version.

New Features:

Project Tab Crosswalk* Updates:

In the Projects tab: Build Settings, added a new option to the Android-Crosswalk section that lets you select between shared mode and embedded mode for the Crosswalk* runtime. See Choosing Crosswalk* Build Options: Shared or Embedded for information on choosing the correct option for your apps.

Couple of caution notes with Crosswalk shared-mode:

First, like the new system WebView in Android* 5.x, updates to Crosswalk may be downloaded automatically by the Google Play* services if there are newer versions available. You should test your app regularly with new versions of Crosswalk as they are released if you chose the shared mode option. In some cases, you might instead choose to stay with the embedded option.

Second, because this feature relies on the end-user’s device having Google Play installed, shared mode is not appropriate if you are distributing your app through other Android app stores.

App Designer Updates:

  Added support for Framework 7*.

Framework 7 is an Apple iOS*-themed framework that includes infinite scrolling, pull to refresh and a number of new touch based widgets.

Even though the framework is designed for iOS, you can build it into apps running on all other platforms as well.

Editor Updates:

JavaScript* code hinting is extended to support APIs documentation and display more information, such as parameters and return types.

Code hints definitions for App Security API v1.2.

Brackets* built-in editor is updated to version 1.3.

The Brackets extensions catalog is updated to support extension's new versions.

Game Asset Manager Updates:

There are added support for importing audio and video assets. This support includes a code-snippet generator that allows you to copy-paste the code needed to add the audio or vidwo asset to your app project.

Many audio and video formats can now be imported into Game Asset Manager, which can generate code snippets specific to the game engine for that project. To use audio and video formats on devices, the devices need to provide the needed CODECs. The supported audio file formats for previewing an asset in Game Asset Manager are .oga/.ogg and .wav, and the supported preview video format is .ogv. See theAudio and Video Asset Support in the Game Asset Manager document for more details.

DOWNLOAD HERE

App Security API Featured Plugin Update:

Updated to version 1.2.0

Intel introduces a new secure transport API that establishes a secure channel with backend to protect data integrity and confidentiality over the web without any crypto/key management effort from the developer.

Intel XDK API plugins are now available as Cordova plugins

The intel.xdk namespace plugins have been recast as Cordova plugins and can be found in the o1.org GitHub repo.
It is recommended that you use a "legacy" intel.xdk API only if there is no alternative in the form of a core Cordova or third-party plugin. For details, see the Intel XDK Namespace Cordova Plugin API Detailsdoc page.

What Every App Developer Needs To Know About Press Kits - By Murtza Manzur

Wednesday, June 17, 2015 Unknown 0

When you are pitching a journalist to write about your mobile app,
shorter emails perform better. But if your email should only be a few
sentences, what’s the best way to share more information? Include a link
to a press kit.

A press kit’s purpose is to make it easy for a journalist to write about
your app. Imagine a tech journalist’s life. They are getting contacted
many times a day by different app developers for the same reason. If
they can't find information about your app, they might lose motivation
and write about another app instead. Avoid that scenario by creating a
single place where they can access everything needed to write about your
app.

A good press kit for a mobile app includes a description, screenshots, a
company logo, an app icon, an app profile, and a contact email.

Description - Have two versions, a one sentence version and a paragraph version. For example, please see Apples vs Robots' press kit.

Screenshots - Have a variety of screenshots showcasing your app. You
can take this a step further by including screenshots of your app in
real-world scenarios, where a person is shown using your app. For
example, please see Timely’s press kit.

Company Logo - Have your company logo available in different sizes,
resolutions, color (dark and light) versions. For example, please see Supercell’s media page.

App Icon - Same advice as a company logo applies here.

App Profile - Have information about the app’s release date,
platform availability, price, links to app store listings, and sales
performance data. For example, please see Apples vs Robots' press kit.

Contact Email - Have a contact email address, which a journalist can use to reach out with questions.

Google To Shut Down Google Code Project Hosting

Saturday, March 21, 2015 Unknown 0

Google announced
the turning down Google Code Project Hosting. The
service started in 2006 with the goal of providing a scalable
and reliable way of hosting open source projects. Since that
time, millions of people have contributed to open source projects
hosted on the site.

But a lot has changed since 2006. In the past nine years, many
other options for hosting open source projects have popped
up, along with vibrant communities of developers. It’s time
to recognize that Google Code’s mission to provide open
source projects a home has been accomplished by others, such as
GitHub and Bitbucket.

Google will be shutting down Google Code over the coming months.
Starting today, the site will no longer accept new projects,
but will remain functionally unchanged until August 2015.
After that, project data will be read-only. Early next year,
the site will shut down, but project data will be available
for download in an archive format.

What Happens To Your Codes?

The simplest option would be to use the

Install the Official CM10.2 Android 4.3 Custom ROM on HTC One device

Wednesday, January 22, 2014 Jaachịmmá Anyatọnwụ 0

The HTC One along with Sony Xperia Z, Samsung Galaxy S4 represents the high end devices that offer impressive performances and features. Today, we will teach you a manually method about how to install the latest stable CM 10.2 Android 4.3 platform on HTC One device.

The latest CM 10.2 custom ROM is now available for all the variant of HTC One devices, that thanks to the Cyanogenmod team.

This latest CM version offers stability, performances, bugs fixed in order to offer a highly Android experience for its users.

As you probably know that, the Cyanogenmod is a powerful and a great platform that brings important features, applications and performances that cannot be available on the default Android OS versions.

In the next sections, we will be checking on how manually install the CM 10.2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean custom ROM firmware on HTC One device.

As already mentioned before, the CM 10.2 Custom ROM system is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware and is it will offer you a custom version of Jelly Bean which will act and offer a different UI that the official Android 4.3 has. Moreover, the HTC One device where the new custom CM 10.2 ROM will be installed will be able to have a better battery life, enhanced speeds and better performances, as well.

The best is that, this guide will provide you the official release of CM 10.2 and not a custom one. So, this custom system is coming directly from the Cyanogenmod team especially designed and optimized for the HTC One device.

Before to learn how to install the CyanogenMod 10.2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on HTC One, you will first have to take care of the prerequisites that are required to be followed before to begin the installation process of the new system.

Prerequisites:

The HTC One device needs to be a rooted device. You need to root the device because a custom ROM firmware can be installed only if the system is unchained.

Important: when the root access is gained then the warranty of the HTC One device will be void.

So, knowing this, you need to be careful when performing the installation operation of the new CM 10.2 firmware to the HTC One device as you don’t want to damage your smartphone while the warranty is voided.

If you want to restore the warranty of the device, you’ll have to downgrade the device to stock Android Jelly Bean operating system or to update it with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat firmware.

Note: when the HTC One device is a rooted device you have manually install the official Android 4.4 KitKat on it.

After you gain the root access on the HTC One device, you have to flash a custom recovery image on it. As you probably know the HTC One device comes with a stock recovery image out of the box, but unfortunately this stock recovery cannot be used to install a custom ROM like CM 10.2 firmware.

So you have to flash the CWM recovery or any other custom recovery image in the device. We will use in this step by step instructional guide the CWM recovery. The CWM recovery image can also be obtained via Google Play and installed after the root access is gained.

Backup all your data stored into device’s internal memory, the installation of a custom ROM is a risky operation that’s why you have to be sure that your data are safe.

When the new CM 10.2 Android 4.3 firmware is installed a wipe operation is being required. So, your data, personal info, accounts, documents, images and everything else that is stored on the internal storage device’s memory will be corrupted or deleted.

So, knowing that our advice is that is very important to make a complete backup. For this, you can save the current ROM by creating a full NANDROID backup.

During the flashing process a computer will be required, the HTC One device and the device’s official USB cable.

Ensure that the security tools such as antivirus, firewall, antimalware, which are installed on the computer and the device should be disabled or uninstalled.

Enable the USB debugging option on the HTC One device by following the next path: “menu -> settings -> developer options”

Make sure that the device’s battery has enough power left, the charge level should more than 65 %, because the flashing procedure will take a few minutes and if there isn’t enough power the device can take a forced power off in the middle of the process and this action can brick it.

The present step by step guide is compatible with HTC One device only. Do not use the same for any other incorrect device you can damage the same.

All the instructions listed here and the files are provided only for educational and instructional purposing, so in case you want to use the same for your HTC One device, you are the only responsible for any data lost or damage during or after the installation process, we cannot be held liable or responsible for your actions and changes over your device. How to Install the Official CM10.2 Android 4.3 Custom ROM Firmware on HTC One

1. Download the CM 10.2 firmware file form here and save it in your PC. 2. Download the Google Apps package from this page and save the same on your PC to the desktop folder. 3. Now, unzip the downloaded files and move to the next steps. 4. Connect the HTC One device to the PC using the USB cable. 5. Transfer (Copy/Paste) the downloaded files (the unzipped files) from the folder when you extracted them before on your smartphone’s SD card. 6. Disconnect the USB cable from the PC. 7. Now, power off the device. 8. Boot it into Recovery Mode. 9. From the recovery mode select the “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. These actions will wipe the system and clear the cache. 10. Next, return the device to the main menu of Recovery Mode menu and select “advance” followed by “wipe dalvick cache” option. 11. Now, go back to the main menu of the recovery mode and select the “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”. 12. Browse for the copied CM 10.2 update file and flash it on the HTC One smartphone. 13. Similar, do the same thing for installing the Google Application pack. 14. Now, just wait while the files are being flashed. 15. When the flashing process is completed, go to the main menu and select “reboot system now”.

Troubleshooting:

If the device might experience a boot loop you have to : Enter into recovery mode. Select the “wipe data factory” and “wipe cache partition” Reboot the system and you are done. Note: the first boot can take a longer to complete than usual.

If you don’t like the new CM 10.2 Android 4.3 platform and you have made a Nandroid backup for your previously ROM then you’ll be able to restore the backup image from the custom recovery image menu by using the “ Backup/Restore” option for restoring the HTC One previously stock Android Operating System.

Congratulation, now you successfully learned how to update the HTC One device with CM 10.2 Android 4.3 custom ROM firmware.

What is Jo HTML5 Framework?

Jo HTML5 Framework is a simple HTML5 framework app, an open source mobile application framework that centers on the HTML5. It supports users for the maintenance of different platforms such as Symbian,

Chrome, Safari, Android, WebOS, iOS and Dashboard widgets. The framework has small size and has no dependencies, attuned with different JS frameworks. This covers PhoneGap and enhances the chance to maintain web apps and native apps together. This is amazingly documented and covers on all levels.

Purpose of the Jo – HTML5 Framework

The basic purpose of the Jo HTML5 framework is to work for apps not websites. The HTML5 app live in a solo page and Jo facilitates people to create an app alike native experience. No doubt, there is some DOM treatment moving on in there rather one has no need to be worried regarding it unless he desire to. Create your app with tweak, CSS, JavaScript and memorize it as a day.

Usage of Jo – HTML5 Framework

Cuddle JavaScript’s object model and slackly typed nature

Influenced CSS3 for attractive show off and animation as possible

Give a continuous and modular event among all objects in the app.

Cover up DOM and device –particular into an interconnected gesture system

Wadded developers from several persistent storage solutions

Perform in an elegant style with other libraries such as PhoneGap

For the code ninja types, Jo gives you most of the benefits of some of the big frameworks out there without all the fuss.

This is designed to manage different applications rather it will play in an amazing way with a blend of latest and old web development tools and techniques. This deploys HTML5 as a development mound and does not need direct DOM manipulation.

Things You Must Know

Jo is a full fledge JavaScript Framework for HTML5 competent devices and browsers. The purpose of its design is to work on mobile platforms as light data layers and GUI on the first PhoneGap. From its unset, Jo is being tested successfully as a lightweight framework for Dashboard widgets, newer desktop browsers and even the mobile browsers as well.

Jo lets CSS3 do the heavy lifting

With a couple minor exceptions, Jo manipulates the DOM by setting CSS className properties. This means you can dramatically change not only the look of your app in CSS, but all of the animated bits as well. If you want a branded look for your app across platforms, tweak the CSS once and you're done.

Ultra-tweakable with CSS3

If you want to customize your app's look and feel for each platform, most if not all of your customization will be in the CSS. If you're lucky enough to have CSS-savvy designer types on hand, this means you can more easily split up that work, too.
Jo is Open Source and free to use. And you're free to contribute as well. Just fork it, add some goodness, and make a pull request.

Building and Structure Maintenance.

This is very easy and simple to create your own as you want rather to avail the maximum out of it one must require a minifier same as jsmin or the stunning YUI compressor. Gzipped and Minified , jo weighs about 9k with no other JavaScript by library dependencies. If you are the one who do not want build up the library by yourself there is nothing wrong while on your downloading the most recent stable release all built and exclusively ready to plugin in from.

Here is the Official Download Link for the Framework http://joapp.com/downloads.html
